A chord and scale reference you can play. The chord library covers all 12 roots and more than 30 chord types: major, minor, dominant 7th, major 7th, minor 7th, power chords, sus2, sus4, diminished, augmented, 6ths, add9, half-diminished, diminished 7th, 9ths, 7♭9, 7♯9, 11ths and 13ths, each with correctly spelled notes (Cdim7 is C E♭ G♭ B𝄫) and its interval formula. Guitar voicings aren’t a fixed chart: they’re found live by searching the fretboard. Within each position (a span of up to four frets) every playable fingering is tried, keeping those with all essential notes, the root or your chosen inversion or slash note in the bass, and no more than four fingers (barring automatically when needed), then ranked by how common they are. It supports standard tuning, Drop D, half-step down, DADGAD, open G and open D, plus high-G and low-G ukulele and baritone ukulele. Strum, arpeggiate or block-play any chord and see it on a piano keyboard. In chord finder mode, click frets or piano keys to name the chord, including first, second and third inversions and slash chords. Scale mode shows major, minor, harmonic and melodic minor, the seven modes, pentatonics, blues and more across the whole neck and keyboard, labelled by note or degree. Export chord diagrams, piano views and fretboards as PNG or SVG.

## FAQ

### How do I read the chord diagrams?

Vertical lines are strings (thickest on the left) and horizontal lines are frets. Numbers in the dots are suggested fingers (1 index, 2 middle, 3 ring, 4 little), a bar means an index-finger barre, ○ above a string is an open string and × means don’t play it. A label such as “5fr” means the top row is the 5th fret. You can also show note names or degrees in the dots.

### Why are there so many voicings for one chord?

The same notes can be played in many places on the neck with different string sets. Open chords in low positions are easy and bright; barre shapes higher up move easily between keys. Voicings are sorted by how common they are, so the first is usually the standard shape and the rest give other positions.

### The finder shows several names. Which one is right?

The same notes often have more than one name; C E G A is both C6 and Am7/C. The tool uses the lowest note as a strong clue, preferring root-position chords when the bass is the root and otherwise listing inversions or slash chords. Which name fits depends on the chord’s role in the song; the top result is the most common reading.

### Does it support ukulele and alternate tunings?

Yes. The instrument menu includes standard, Drop D, half-step down, DADGAD, open G and open D guitar, plus high-G and low-G ukulele and baritone ukulele (DGBE). Voicings, the chord finder and scale charts are all recalculated for the tuning you choose.
