A virtual piano that is ready the moment the page opens. The keyboard shows 2–4 octaves (two on phones, four on wide screens): click with the mouse, press several keys at once on a touch screen, slide a finger across the keys for a glissando — pressing lower on a key plays louder. Or play with your computer keyboard: the bottom row Z S X D C V … and the top row Q 2 W 3 E R … each cover an octave, ← → shift octaves, and holding Space works as the sustain pedal (touch users can latch the pedal with a button). Choose piano, electric piano, organ or synth. Every sound is synthesized live with Web Audio — the piano combines stacked partials, the harmonic notch caused by the hammer position, the beating of three slightly detuned strings and a filter that darkens as the note decays — so there are no samples to download and latency stays low. Keys can show letter names (C D E), solfège (do re mi) or numbered notation (1 2 3, with octave dots), plus the matching computer key. Press Record to capture a performance, then play it back, export a WAV rendered offline from the same synth, or export a standard MIDI file with velocity and pedal to continue in GarageBand, FL Studio or MuseScore. The practice section includes public-domain songs such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Ode to Joy, Frère Jacques, Mary Had a Little Lamb and Jingle Bells: practice mode highlights the next key and waits for you, demo mode plays the song with falling notes.

## FAQ

### How do I play the piano with my computer keyboard?

The bottom letter row Z X C V B N M plays the white keys C D E F G A B, and S D G H J in between are the black keys. The top row Q W E R T Y U plays the same notes an octave higher, with the number keys 2 3 5 6 7 as black keys. Use ← → to shift everything by an octave and hold Space for the sustain pedal. Turn on “Show computer-keyboard keys” to see the key on every piano key.

### Why is there a delay, or no sound at all?

Browsers only allow audio after your first click or key press, so tap a key once to start. A noticeable delay is usually Bluetooth headphone latency (often 100–300 ms); wired headphones or built-in speakers feel much tighter. On phones, the silent switch can also mute browser audio.

### What can I do with the exported MIDI file?

MIDI stores the notes, velocities and pedal rather than the sound itself, so you can open it in GarageBand, FL Studio, Logic, Cubase or MuseScore, assign any instrument, edit notes or turn it into sheet music. Export WAV if you want a file you can simply listen to or share.

### Do I need to install anything or download sounds?

No. Every sound is synthesized by your browser’s Web Audio engine, so there are no sample libraries to download and the piano works instantly. Recording and exporting also happen locally — nothing is uploaded. The tool is free with no sign-up.
