Recordings open with a few seconds of shuffling papers and throat-clearing, end with silence nobody stopped in time, and carry long pauses in between. This finds and cuts them, so the file gets noticeably shorter and tighter. Trim only the edges, or shorten the pauses in the middle too.

## FAQ

### Why was some silence left in?

That stretch is louder than the threshold. For a noisy room, raise the silence threshold — from -40 dB to -30 dB, for instance.

### Will it cut the natural pauses in my speech?

Not away entirely. With the middle option, pauses are shortened to the length you set (0.5 s by default) rather than deleted, so the result still sounds natural.

### Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Files never leave your computer and are discarded when you close the page.

### Do I need to sign up or pay?

No. The site is completely free, requires no account, has no usage limits and adds no watermarks.
