## FAQ

### What is the difference between fast mode and re-encoding?

Fast mode copies the audio data directly: instant and lossless, but cut points may be off by a fraction of a second. Re-encoding can also change format and cuts exactly where you asked, but takes longer.

### Can it split on silence automatically?

Not yet — type the time points in instead. Listen through once, note the boundaries, then split them all in one pass.

### Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Files never leave your computer and are discarded when you close the page.

### Do I need to sign up or pay?

No. The site is completely free, requires no account, has no usage limits and adds no watermarks.
