How fast are your reactions, how many digits can you hold in mind, and how well can you ignore distractions? Here are ten cognitive mini-tests that each take a minute or two. Reaction time: click the moment the screen turns green, with false starts detected and five tries averaged. Sequence memory: repeat the order in which tiles light up, Simon-style. Number memory: recall a flashed number that grows one digit per round. Verbal memory: decide whether each word is new or already seen, with English and Chinese word lists. Visual memory: remember lit squares on a grid that keeps growing. Aim trainer: hit 30 targets as fast as you can. Chimp test: memorize where numbers are before they’re hidden. Stroop test: pick the ink colour rather than the word, with the interference effect measured. And Schulte tables in 5×5 and 6×6. Every test gives a score and a rough “better than about X% of people” band — estimated from typical results in public online games and meant just for fun — and your personal bests are saved in your browser. Large, touch-friendly controls work on phones too. These are games, not medical or psychological assessments.

## How to use

1. Pick one of the ten tests and read the short description
2. Press Start and play — tap directly on a phone
3. Check your score, rough percentile band and personal best, then try again or switch tests

## FAQ

### How accurate are the percentile bands?

They’re rough estimates based on typical scores in public online mini-games, meant only as a fun reference — not a standardized assessment. Reaction and aim scores also depend on your device, mouse or touchscreen latency and screen refresh rate, so the same person can differ by tens of milliseconds between phone and computer. Don’t use them to judge your health.

### How do I get better at Schulte tables?

A Schulte table scatters the numbers 1–25 (or 1–36) across a grid, and you find them in order as fast as possible. Try to keep your gaze near the centre and use peripheral vision instead of scanning cell by cell. Adults commonly take around 25–30 seconds on a 5×5 table, and regular practice usually brings that down noticeably.

### What does the Stroop test measure?

The Stroop effect is the slowdown and extra errors you get when a word’s meaning conflicts with its ink colour, like “RED” printed in blue. About 60% of items here are mismatched. The result shows your average time on matching and mismatched items; the difference is the interference effect, a measure of how well you suppress an automatic response. Runs below 80% accuracy don’t count toward your personal best.

### Where are my personal bests stored?

In your browser’s localStorage on this device — nothing is uploaded and no sign-in is needed. They disappear if you switch browsers or clear site data, and you can clear them all from the button below the test list.
