Application portals, ID photo uploads and print shops often ask for 300 DPI. DPI is just a print-density tag stored in the file — it does not change the number of pixels. ## FAQ

### Does a higher DPI make my photo sharper?

No. DPI only tells a printer how many pixels to place per inch; the pixel count and sharpness stay the same. To print larger and sharp you need more pixels.

### The form wants 300 DPI at 413×531 pixels — what do I do?

Get the pixel size right first with the ID Photo Maker or Resize Image, then set the DPI to 300 here.

### Are my files or data uploaded?
