### Why is there no EXIF data?

Screenshots, images downloaded from websites and photos sent through most messaging and social apps usually have their EXIF stripped. Use the original file from your camera or phone gallery.

### Can the GPS data in a photo reveal where I live?

Yes. A photo with GPS coordinates shows exactly where it was taken. Before sharing it publicly, remove the location with the Remove EXIF tool on this site.

### Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Files never leave your computer and are discarded when you close the page.
