From a distance it's one picture; up close it's made of many small photos. Photo mosaics make great anniversary gifts, graduation keepsakes, company milestones and wedding decorations. Upload the main picture first, then the photos to build it from — twenty or more already look good, and more photos give richer colour. The tool divides the main picture into a grid, picks the small photo whose average colour best matches each cell and avoids repeating the same photo nearby; tinting overlays each tile with the main picture's colour to make the image read more clearly. More tiles across give finer detail, larger tiles look sharper up close, and the output can reach 12,000 px.

### How many small photos do I need?

At least one, but 20+ is recommended. More photos with varied colours give a finer result; with few photos each one repeats, so raise the tint a little.

### The main picture is hard to make out — what now?

Increase tiles across for finer detail and raise the tint to strengthen outlines. Main pictures with a clear subject and strong contrast work best.

### Are my files uploaded?
