A home A4 or Letter printer is enough for a poster more than a metre wide. Upload an image and set the size either as a page grid — at most so many columns × rows, with the tool picking whichever paper orientation gives the larger poster while keeping the image’s proportions — or as a physical width in centimetres or inches. You immediately see the finished poster size, the page count and how many pixels per inch the image works out to. Paper can be A4, A3, Letter or Legal; the margin covers the strip your printer can’t print, and the overlap gives neighbouring pages an identical band of image for lining up and gluing. Every page carries corner cut marks, blue alignment ticks in the margin (plus optional dashed overlap lines on the image), labels such as A1, A2 and B1, hints naming the neighbouring pages and a small assembly map. Print the photo as is, or use rasterbator-style halftone dots: 2–30 mm spacing sampled on a single grid across the whole poster so dots line up perfectly between pages, single-colour dots (in any colour) that grow with darkness, or colour dots that take the image’s colours — striking from a distance and a great way to hide a low-resolution source. The assembly preview shows every sheet and how they overlap, and clicking a page shows its full layout. Export a multi-page PDF at 100–300 DPI or print directly. Everything runs in your browser and the image is never uploaded.

## How to use

1. Upload an image and size the poster by page grid (columns × rows) or by physical width
2. Choose paper, orientation, margin and overlap, and check the page count and resolution note
3. Optionally switch to single-colour or colour halftone dots and set dot spacing and size
4. Check pages in the assembly preview, download the PDF or print, then trim and glue by page label

## FAQ

### The printed size is wrong — what happened?

Choose “Actual size” or 100% scale in the print dialog, never “Fit to page” or “Shrink to printable area”. Also keep the margin larger than your printer’s minimum border (usually 3–5 mm on home printers; the 10 mm default is safe), otherwise edges get clipped and neighbouring pages won’t line up.

### How do I use the overlap?

The overlap is an identical strip of image on two neighbouring pages. Trim the right and bottom margins of each page along the cut marks, lay that edge over the overlap strip of the page to its right or below, line up the blue ticks in the margin and glue. Build each row into a strip first, then join the rows. With a 0 mm overlap, trim all margins and butt the pages edge to edge.

### When should I use the halftone dots?

When the source image is low resolution (the page shows a low pixels-per-inch figure), enlarging it makes it blurry. As dots, every element is a crisp vector circle: from across the room you see the picture, up close you see a pop-art dot pattern — the classic rasterbator look. Bigger dots are more abstract and use less ink, and single-colour dots suit a black-and-white printer.

### How big can I go?

Up to 200 pages, at most 30 pages per side in grid mode, or 20 metres wide by width. A 3×3 grid of A4 makes roughly 80 × 55 cm and 5×5 about 1.3 m wide. Each PDF page is a full-page image — about 1–3 MB at 300 DPI — so for many pages 150 DPI is a sensible choice.
