Adjust the tolerance and edge softness; semi-transparent edge pixels have the background colour removed from them, so there is no white fringe on dark backgrounds. ### How is this different from Remove Background?

This tool removes a solid colour — it is fast with crisp edges, ideal for signatures and logos. For photos with busy backgrounds, use the AI-based Remove Background tool.

### My signature photo has a greyish background — what now?

Raise the tolerance to around 25–35% so the grey paper is removed as well. If the strokes start to fade, lower it a little.

### Are my files or data uploaded?
