Moving a video off your phone usually means a messaging app that recompresses it, a cloud drive that makes you wait for an upload and then a download, or the cable you cannot find. This tool uses WebRTC: the two devices swap one connection code (a QR code scan does it), and after that the data flows directly between them. On the same Wi-Fi you get local-network speed, and a multi-gigabyte file never touches anyone's server.

## How to use

1. Open this page on both devices; pick “Send files” on one and “Receive files” on the other
2. The sender picks files and creates an invite code; the receiver scans or pastes it
3. The receiver gets a reply code — scan or paste that back on the sender
4. The receiver hits “Start receiving” and each file is saved as it arrives

## FAQ

### What is inside the connection code?

Network addresses (LAN IP or mDNS name) and a certificate fingerprint — no file content. It does reveal your local address, so show that code only to the device you are pairing with.

### Can I send between different networks?

Enable “Across networks”, which asks a public STUN server once for this machine's public address — only the address; files never pass through it. The trade-off is that your public IP ends up in the code. There is no relay server (TURN) here, so two devices both behind symmetric NAT or a strict corporate network cannot connect at all; there you need a different network.

### Do I need an account or an app?

Neither. A browser tab on each side is enough, including Safari and Chrome on phones.

### Can I close the page mid-transfer?

No. The connection lives in the page, so closing a tab — or letting a phone lock for a while — drops it and you have to pair again. Keep the screen awake for big files.

### Where do the received files go?

Each file triggers a download the moment it finishes, into your browser's download folder. With several files the browser may ask once whether to allow multiple downloads.

### How does this compare to AirDrop?

AirDrop only works between Apple devices. This works across systems — Windows to iPhone, Android to Mac — as long as both sides can open a web page.
