# PDF Cross-Page Seal - Stamp a Seal Across All Pages

> Stamp a cross-page seal on a PDF for free: the seal is sliced by page count, one slice per page edge, so fanned pages rebuild it and no page can be swapped.

Multi-page contracts, tenders and audit reports in China are often stamped with a cross-page seal (骑缝章): one seal spans the edges of every page, so each page carries a single slice and the full seal only reappears when the pages are fanned out in order. If any page is swapped, the seal no longer lines up. This tool does the same for PDFs. Upload a PDF and a seal image, choose the edge (right by default), the seal diameter and position, and the seal is cut into equal slices by the number of pages and stamped on the same edge of each page; page 1 takes the leftmost slice, so laying the pages out in order rebuilds the seal. For long documents set the maximum pages per seal and the pages are split into several groups, each with its own seal placed further along the edge, so slices stay legible; for duplex printing you can stamp odd pages only. The seal image is embedded once and each page shows its slice through a vector clip, so cuts are exact, quality is untouched and the file barely grows; rotated and cropped pages are stamped on their visible edge. Multiply blending is on by default, so like real ink the seal does not hide the text beneath. White-background JPG seals can be cleaned and trimmed automatically. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

## How to use

1. Upload a PDF, then choose a seal image (a transparent PNG is best; tick “Remove white background” for white-background images)
2. Choose the edge, seal diameter and position, optionally set a page range, odd pages only or max pages per seal, and check the reassembled preview
3. Click “Apply seal & download”

## Features

## FAQ

### How does the seal reassemble?

The seal is cut into equal slices, one per page. On the right edge, page 1 takes the leftmost slice, page 2 the next, and so on; shift each page slightly to the right of the one above so the right edges form steps, and the slices join into the full seal. On the left edge the order is reversed. The reassembly preview shows the pages laid out in order.

### The document is long and each slice is too thin. What can I do?

Set “Max pages per seal”, for example 15. Pages are divided evenly into groups, each with its own complete seal placed further along the edge, so no slice gets too thin. The tool warns when slices are narrower than 2 mm.

### How should a duplex-printed contract be stamped?

Tick “Odd pages only”. When printing on both sides, the right edge of the front and the left edge of the back are the same paper edge, so stamping the right edge of the front sides (odd pages) is enough.

### Where do I put the full seal at the signature?

The cross-page seal only covers the page edges. Place the full seal or signature on the signing page with PDF Sign & Stamp. Both run locally, so you can apply the cross-page seal first and the signature seal afterwards.

### Is a seal applied this way legally binding?

The tool lays out your seal image on the PDF in the cross-page style. That is an image on an electronic document, not a certificate-based electronic signature. For formal use follow the other party's requirements, use a qualified e-signature service or print and stamp with the physical seal. Only use seals you are authorised to use.
