Contracts, drawings, exam papers and archived scans often need a QR code on every page — to trace a document ID, link to the online version or check page order. This tool stamps QR codes onto PDFs in your browser. The content comes from a template with {page}, {total}, {filename}, {date}, {id} (a per-file ID) and {n} (file number), and {page:3} pads the page to 001, so every page gets its own code. Process many files at once with one ID per file, and limit stamping to a page range if you like. Choose one of nine positions and fine-tune with margins in millimetres; set the size, quiet zone (blank modules around the code), error-correction level L/M/Q/H and colour, and optionally put a background behind the code so it still scans over text and images. Add a text label above or below, with the same template variables — Chinese text works too. The QR code isn’t pasted as a picture: each run of dark modules is drawn as a vector rectangle in the page content, so it stays sharp at any zoom and in print while adding very little to the file size. On pages with a /Rotate setting the coordinates are converted so the code stays upright in the reading direction and lands in the corner you chose, and the original content is wrapped in its own graphics state so leftover transforms can’t shift it. A live preview of the first page shows the result while you adjust, and all files download together. Everything is processed locally.

## How to use

1. Upload one or more PDFs, enter the QR content template and one ID per file in order
2. Choose position, margins, size, quiet zone, error correction and colour; add a label or page range if needed
3. Check the preview, click “Add QR codes” and download the stamped PDFs

## Features

- Batch files with a separate ID for each
- Nine position presets plus margins in mm; stamp selected pages only
- Drawn as vector rectangles — crisp in print
- Respects /Rotate, upright on rotated pages
- Adjustable quiet zone, error correction, colour and background

## FAQ

### Is the QR code an image or a vector? Will it bloat the file?

It’s a vector. Each row of dark modules is merged into rectangles written straight into the page content stream, with no embedded image, so it never blurs when zoomed, prints with sharp edges and usually adds only a few KB per page.

### What size and error-correction level will scan reliably?

For print, keep the code at least 15 mm wide; longer content makes a denser code that needs more room. Use a quiet zone of at least 2 modules — 4 on busy backgrounds — and turn on the background option. Higher error correction tolerates damage better but makes the same content denser: M is a good default, Q or H if stamps or folds may cover the code. Scan a test page with your phone before printing a batch.

### My pages are landscape or rotated — will the code be sideways?

No. Many PDFs use the /Rotate setting to display a portrait page as landscape, and drawing at raw coordinates would put the code on its side or in the wrong corner. The tool converts to reading-direction coordinates so the code is always upright and in the corner you picked, and it isolates the existing content first so leftover transforms can’t shift or scale it.

### Are files uploaded? Can it handle encrypted PDFs?

Nothing is uploaded — QR generation and writing happen in your browser. PDFs with an open password need to be decrypted first with the Remove Password tool; files with only a permissions password can usually be processed directly, but make sure you’re allowed to modify them.
