SVGs exported from design tools carry lots of baggage: private Illustrator, Inkscape, Sketch and Figma namespaces and metadata, comments, default-valued attributes, empty groups, unused gradients and coordinates with five or six decimals. This tool performs SVGO-style optimization right in your browser. It removes editor data, comments (keeping <!--! legal comments), metadata, empty attributes and default values (checking ancestors so inheritance is preserved), unused defs and ids and empty g / defs elements, and collapses useless groups. Path data is parsed and re-serialized at the precision you choose, picking the shorter of relative or absolute form for every command and rewriting horizontal and vertical lines as H / V. Colors are shortened, style attributes and <style> blocks are minified, and you can drop width / height to keep only the viewBox or convert xlink:href to href. Each file shows its size before and after, with the original and optimized images side by side so you can compare them. Drop many files at once and download them as a ZIP, or copy the result as a URL-encoded or Base64 Data URI for CSS, or as a ready-to-use React JSX component.

## How to use

1. Drop one or more SVG files, or paste SVG code
2. Adjust the options and precision while comparing the previews
3. Download a file, grab everything as a ZIP, or copy SVG, Data URI or JSX

## Features

- Removes editor data, comments, metadata, defaults and empty attributes
- Drops unused defs and ids and collapses useless groups
- Path data rewritten at your precision, shortest relative / absolute form
- Shorter colors and minified styles
- Side-by-side preview with compression ratio
- Batch processing with ZIP download
- Export as Data URI (URL-encoded / Base64) or React JSX

## FAQ

### What precision should I use?

Precision is the number of decimals kept in coordinates. For icons and logos a few dozen pixels wide, 1 is usually indistinguishable; use 2 for typical illustrations and 3 for very detailed artwork shown large. We rasterized randomly generated complex paths in the browser: at precision 2 only a handful of anti-aliased pixels differ on a 400×400 canvas. Always check the side-by-side preview.

### Will optimization change how my SVG looks?

The defaults are designed not to change rendering: default attributes are only removed when no ancestor sets the same property, ids and defs are only removed when nothing references them via url(#…), href or CSS selectors, and SVGs with scripts or event handlers keep their ids. Removing <title> / <desc> is off by default because they matter for accessibility. If a file changes, turn off the related option and try again.

### Should I use the URL-encoded or Base64 Data URI?

For CSS backgrounds prefer the URL-encoded version: it swaps double quotes for single quotes and encodes only what is necessary, so it is usually about 30% smaller than Base64 and gzips better. Base64 is the most foolproof choice for JSON or places where special characters are awkward.

### Are my SVG files uploaded?

No. Parsing, optimization, previews and ZIP creation all happen in your browser with DOMParser; your files never leave your computer and are gone when you close the page.
