Need to replace several words in a text at once? Doing find/replace one by one in an editor is slow. Here you can add as many rules as you like; they run top to bottom, each showing how many matches it found, and the result updates instantly. Choose plain text or regular expressions, case sensitivity and whole-word matching (which also works for Chinese). In replacements, \n is a line break and \t a tab, and in regex mode $1, $2 reference capture groups — perfect for reformatting dates, adding prefixes/suffixes, or joining and splitting lines. Everything runs in your browser.

## FAQ

### How do I replace line breaks with commas (or the other way round)?

Switch to Regular expression mode, find \n and replace with , to join all lines into one. To split a comma-separated list into lines, find , and replace with \n. The \n escape in replacements works in both modes.

### How do I reuse the matched text in a regex replacement?

Use $1, $2 for the first and second capture groups and $& for the whole match. For example, find (\d{4})-(\d{2})-(\d{2}) and replace with $2/$3/$1 to turn 2025-09-25 into 09/25/2025. In plain-text mode $ is literal.

### In what order are multiple rules applied?

Top to bottom; each rule works on the output of the previous ones. To swap A and B, replace A with a temporary placeholder, then B with A, then the placeholder with B.

### Is my text uploaded?

No. All processing runs locally in your browser with no network upload, and nothing is kept after you close the page. The tool is free and needs no account.
