### How long should a fade be?

About half a second to one second at the start and one to two seconds at the end feels natural. For a more deliberate ending, try around three seconds — much longer tends to drag.

### Black or white — what is the difference?

Fading to black is the classic, cinematic choice. Fading to white feels brighter and lighter, and is common in wedding films, memory montages and flashback effects.
