Phone and camera footage shot by hand often jitters, and walking shots bob up and down. This tool stabilizes in two passes. First it shrinks every frame to a grayscale thumbnail and uses block matching to measure how the camera moved and rotated between frames. Then it smooths that camera path forwards and backwards and shifts and rotates each frame by the difference, so jitter disappears while deliberate pans stay. Decoding and encoding use your browser’s hardware video engine (WebCodecs), so a 1080p clip usually finishes faster than real time. Strength sets how smooth the path becomes: Light removes only fine jitter, Strong holds the shot almost like a tripod. Corrections leave gaps at the edges, which you can hide by zooming in slightly (recommended; the correction never exceeds the zoom margin, so no black edges appear) or fill with mirrored, stretched or black pixels. Before processing the whole video, render a 4-second side-by-side preview from any point, and optionally export an “original | stabilized” comparison video too. Browsers without WebCodecs, or formats it can’t read, fall back to FFmpeg’s deshake filter, which is slower.

## How to use

1. Upload a shaky video
2. Choose strength, edge handling and output resolution, and render a 4-second comparison preview
3. Click Stabilize and download the MP4 (plus the comparison video if selected)

## Features

- Cancels both shift and roll (rotation) shake
- Two-way smoothed camera path keeps deliberate pans
- Hardware-accelerated decoding and encoding (WebCodecs), usually faster than real time
- Three strengths, from fine-jitter removal to a tripod-like hold
- Zoom-to-crop with no black edges, or mirror, stretched-edge or black borders
- 4-second side-by-side preview before processing
- Optional original-vs-stabilized comparison export
- Keeps the audio; outputs H.264 MP4

## FAQ

### Why does the stabilized video look slightly zoomed in?

To cancel the shake every frame is shifted, which leaves gaps at the edges. The default “Zoom in to hide borders” enlarges the picture a little (8% by default) to hide them. For mild shake, lower the zoom or switch to mirror fill to keep the full frame.

### Why is the effect weak on some videos?

The tool tracks the motion of the whole frame, so it suits hand jitter, walking bounce and small rolls. Large moving subjects such as crowds or water, or very fast pans, confuse the estimate. With the zoom-to-crop border the correction is also capped by the zoom margin, so try the Strong setting with a larger zoom, or trim the shakiest part and stabilize that.

### How long does it take?

In current Chrome, Edge and Safari it uses the hardware video engine, so a 1080p clip usually takes less time than its own length. Browsers without WebCodecs, or formats it can’t read (such as AVI), fall back to FFmpeg in WebAssembly, which is several times slower than real time; outputting 720p helps there.

### Is my video uploaded? Is it free?

No upload — everything runs locally in your browser and is discarded when you close the page. The tool is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
