🪘Online Drum Machine - Step Sequencer with WAV & MIDI Export

Program a beat right in your browser by clicking steps on a grid — no software to install. The kit has 10 sounds: kick, snare, clap, rimshot, closed hat, open hat, low and high toms, cowbell and crash, all synthesized live with Web Audio (oscillators, noise, filters and envelopes, much like a classic 808), so there are no samples to download, and the closed hat chokes the open hat just like a real kit. Choose 8 steps (eighths), 12 (triplets), 16, or 32 (two bars). Each step can be soft, normal or accented — click to cycle, right-click or long-press to clear. Set the tempo from 40 to 240 BPM and swing from 50% to 75%; around 66% gives the triplet feel used in hip-hop and jazz. Every track has mute, solo, volume, pan and pitch. Start from presets for rock, pop, boom-bap hip-hop, trap, house, techno, disco, funk, reggaeton, bossa nova, blues shuffle and cha-cha, then make them your own. Playback uses a look-ahead scheduler, so timing stays tight. When you’re done, render 1 to 16 loops to a WAV file offline, or export a General MIDI drum file on channel 10 and drop it into GarageBand, FL Studio, Ableton, Logic and more. Your current pattern autosaves in the browser, and you can save as many named beats as you like.

FAQ

How do I use the exported MIDI file?
The file uses the General MIDI drum map on channel 10 (kick 36, snare 38, closed hat 42, open hat 46 and so on). Drag it onto a drum track in GarageBand, FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic or Cubase and it plays with that program’s own drum kit, with every note still editable. Tempo, swing and velocities are included.
What does swing do?
Swing delays every second sixteenth (or eighth) note slightly, turning a rigid, even groove into one that bounces. 50% is perfectly straight and about 66% approximates a triplet feel, common in hip-hop, funk, jazz and shuffles. The 12-step grid is already triplet-based, so swing isn’t applied there.
Why is there no sound when I press Play?
Browsers only allow audio after you interact with the page, so make sure you clicked Play, and check your system volume. On iPhone, the silent switch can mute web audio. Also check that tracks aren’t muted and that no other track is soloed.
Are my beats saved?
The pattern you’re editing, plus volume and settings, autosaves in this browser and will be there next time. You can also save any number of named beats under My beats and load them whenever you like. Everything stays in your browser, so clearing site data or switching devices loses it — export MIDI to keep a backup of beats you care about.
