💞Shape Photo Collage - Heart, Letters, Numbers, Silhouettes

Arrange a pile of photos into a shape: a heart for an anniversary, an age number for a birthday, initials for a name, or any silhouette you upload (a transparent PNG uses its opaque area, an image on white uses its dark area, with threshold and invert controls). The shape is first rendered as a mask and trimmed, then filled in one of two ways. Grid mode lets you set the number of cells across, the cell shape, spacing and corner radius, and pick an edge rule — only cells fully inside (neatest cells, gaps at the edge), cells at least half inside, or fill everything and clip the whole collage to the shape for the crispest outline; 16 grid offsets are tried and the one that fits the most photos wins. Packed-circles mode repeatedly finds the emptiest spot on the shape’s distance field and drops in the largest circle that fits, giving a natural mix of big and small circles that never overlap or leave the shape. Each photo is cropped to fill its cell; if there aren’t enough photos, the whole set is reshuffled and reused while avoiding the same photo twice in a row. A random seed controls order and rotation, so each new seed gives a new arrangement and the same seed reproduces it exactly. Add random rotation, photo borders, a shape fill colour and a background colour or transparency. Without photos you get a colour-block preview, and the result exports as a PNG or JPG from 1000 to 4000 px. Everything runs locally and your photos are never uploaded.

How to use Shape Photo Collage

  1. 1Drop in several photos — a handful is fine, they repeat automatically
  2. 2Choose a shape: heart, circle, star and more, type letters or numbers, or upload a silhouette
  3. 3Pick grid or packed circles and adjust cells, spacing, corners, edge rule and rotation
  4. 4Hit Shuffle until you like it, set the background and export a PNG or JPG

FAQ

How many photos do I need?
Anything from a few to a few hundred. When there are fewer photos than cells, the set is reshuffled and reused, avoiding the same photo in neighbouring cells where possible. To show each photo only once, lower the cells-across value until the cell count is no more than your photo count, or set “Max photos” to the number of photos in packed-circles mode.
What’s the difference between the three edge rules?
“Only cells fully inside” keeps every photo whole but leaves a stepped, slightly thinner outline. “At least half inside” fills the outline more fully, with edge cells poking out a little. “Fill and clip to the shape” covers the area and then cuts the collage along the exact outline — the crispest silhouette, though edge photos are only partly visible. It’s the best choice for thin strokes such as letters and numbers.
How should I prepare a custom silhouette?
A PNG with a transparent background works best — its opaque area becomes the shape. A dark silhouette on a white background works too, using the dark pixels. If the background gets picked up instead, tick Invert, and adjust the threshold if the edge is ragged. Bold, simple shapes are the most recognisable.
Is the output good enough to print?
Yes. The largest export is 4000 px on the long side, about 34 cm at 300 DPI or 50 cm at 200 DPI. Photos are scaled to at most 900 px inside the collage to save memory, so with very few, very large cells at 4000 px they are enlarged slightly.
