🎓GPA Calculator - Weighted GPA on 4.0, Letter Grade, WES and 5-Point Scales

Graduate applications, scholarships and credential evaluations all ask for a GPA, but institutions convert grades differently. Enter each course's credits and grade and the tool instantly shows your grade point average and credit-weighted average score, with five common scales one click apart: US letter grades (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3 …), the standard 4.0 banding (90+ = 4, 80+ = 3 …), the WES-style 85/75/60 bands used for many international transcripts, the Peking University continuous formula 4 − 3(100−x)²/1600, and a 5-point scale. Grades can be percentages, letters like A− or B+, or Chinese five-level grades; courses marked P or Pass are left out of the GPA. Paste three columns straight from a spreadsheet to add many courses at once. The target planner then tells you what average you need in your remaining credits to reach a goal GPA.

FAQ

How is GPA calculated?
Each grade is converted to grade points on the chosen scale, multiplied by the course credits, summed, and divided by the total credits: GPA = Σ(points × credits) ÷ Σ credits. Courses without a numeric grade, such as pass/fail, are left out of both sums.
Which letter-grade values does it use?
The common US 4.0 values: A+ and A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B− = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C− = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D− = 0.7, F = 0. Percentage scores map to letters at 93/90/87/83/80/77/73/70/67/63/60. Some schools count A+ as 4.3, so check your registrar's policy.
Which scale should I use for applications abroad?
Many US schools and WES evaluations convert Chinese percentage grades with the 85/75/60 bands (85+ = A = 4.0, 75–84 = B = 3.0, 60–74 = C = 2.0). Others ask for your transcript average instead. Follow the institution's instructions — switching scales here lets you compare the results instantly.
How does the target GPA planner work?
With C credits completed at GPA g, a target t and R credits remaining, you need an average of (t × (C + R) − g × C) ÷ R grade points in the remaining courses. The tool also translates that into an approximate score or letter on the current scale, and tells you if the target is out of reach even with perfect grades.
