FAQ
- Can it open a file when I do not know the password?
- No. The tool simply opens the file with the correct password you supply; there is no cracking or brute-forcing of any kind. Only use it on files you are allowed to access.
- What about files that open but will not let me copy or print?
- Those carry only an owner password. Upload them without typing anything and you will get a version with the restrictions removed.
- Is anything lost when unlocking?
- Page content, sizes and rotation are preserved. Because the file is rebuilt, bookmarks, interactive form behaviour and some document properties may not carry over — keep the original if that matters.
- Are my files or data uploaded?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser with no network upload, and is discarded when you close the page.
