🪝PDF Link Manager - List, Check, Edit, Add & Auto-Link URLs
Once a PDF has more than a handful of links they’re hard to keep track of: which ones go to websites, which jump within the document, which URLs are mistyped, and are there any that launch programs or run scripts? This tool reads every page’s Link annotations and decodes all action types — URIs, internal GoTo jumps (including named destinations and name trees), links to other files, Launch, JavaScript and named actions — then uses PDF.js to pick up the text under each link rectangle. Everything lands in one table with page, type, target, link text and check result, filterable by web links, internal jumps, problems, risky actions or the current page, and exportable as CSV. URL checks look at the format only and never go online by default: missing schemes, spaces, invalid domains, unencrypted http, local or intranet addresses, malformed email addresses and javascript: or file: links are all flagged. If you want, an opt-in online check lets your browser contact each URL to see whether it responds. Edit a URL or turn a link into a jump to a page right in the table, delete links, or drag on the page preview to draw a new one. Auto-link scans all the text and adds links to https://, www. addresses and email addresses that don’t have one yet. Saving only touches the link annotations — page content stays exactly as it was — and coordinates are converted correctly on rotated pages. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

FAQ
- Does the check visit the websites in my links?
- Not by default. The tool only checks the format — scheme, domain, spaces, email syntax and so on — without making any network request. Only when you click Check reachability online does your browser contact the URLs, and because of cross-origin rules it can only tell whether a site responds, not status codes such as 404.
- Why are some links shown as Launch or JavaScript?
- Besides opening URLs and jumping to pages, PDF links can launch local programs, run scripts or trigger viewer commands. These actions are a common trick in malicious files, so they’re highlighted in red. Delete them, or click ✎ to turn one into a plain URL or internal jump.
- What does auto-link pick up?
- It scans every page’s text for addresses starting with https://, http:// or www. and for email addresses, skips spots already covered by a link and trims trailing full stops, commas and unbalanced brackets. Results appear in the New list first, so you can edit or remove any before saving. Scanned pages have no text layer and need OCR first.
- Will editing links change my pages or image quality?
- No. Links are separate annotation objects in a PDF; the tool only adds, changes or removes those annotations. Text, images and layout are untouched and nothing is recompressed. New links are invisible by default — tick the option to give them a blue border.
