🛢️SQLite Online - Open a .db / .sqlite File and Run SQL

You have a .db file and want to see what is inside. Installing DB Browser is heavy, and uploading it to a website is worse — it may hold chat logs, accounts or a production export. This page runs the official SQLite compiled to wasm: the whole database opens in memory, tables, views, indexes and row counts are right there, SQL is plain SQL, and you can download the modified database afterwards. The file on your disk is never written to.

  4. 4If you ran writes, use Download .sqlite to keep the modified copy

FAQ

Is my database uploaded?
No. The SQLite engine is a 670 KB wasm file that runs in your browser; the database is read into memory with FileReader and no request carries the data anywhere. The page keeps working offline.
If I change data, does the file on disk change?
No. A browser cannot write local files, so writes apply to the in-memory copy. The page says the database was modified, and Download .sqlite gives you a new file while the original stays as a backup.
How large a database can it open?
The whole file is read into memory, so a few hundred MB is comfortable and beyond that the tab may run out (the page warns you first). For very large databases, export the tables you need into a smaller one with the sqlite3 command line.
Which SQL is missing?
The default sql.js build has no FTS5 full-text index, no R-Tree and no math functions (sqrt, pow …), so those report no such module / no such function; FTS4 is included. An FTS5 virtual table is flagged as unsupported, and ordinary tables in the same database still work.
My .db will not open
Check whether the file starts with "SQLite format 3". The .db extension is used by many databases — Access, Realm and LevelDB files have nothing to do with SQLite and cannot be opened here.
How is this different from SQL on CSV?
That tool reads CSV / JSON text with an SQL engine written for this site, which suits exported files. This one reads real SQLite databases with real SQLite, so the syntax matches your production database.
