🎯Compress Video to a Specific Size Online - 8MB, 10MB, 25MB for Discord & Email

Discord caps free uploads at 10 MB, email attachments are usually limited to 25 MB, and many forms and sites have their own limits. A regular compressor only makes a video "somewhat" smaller; this one targets the size you need. Choose 8 / 10 / 25 / 50 / 100 MB or enter your own, and the tool divides the target by the duration to get the total bitrate, subtracts audio and about 4% container overhead for the video bitrate, and shows the budget and output resolution live. When the bitrate is too low for the resolution it recommends 720p, 480p and so on to avoid blocky video; you can also set resolution, frame rate and audio bitrate yourself, or drop the audio to give every bit to the picture. Two-pass x264 is used by default — the first pass measures scene complexity, the second spends the budget precisely — and if the file still comes out over the target, it is re-encoded once at a lower bitrate. You get a clear target-vs-actual size report at the end.

FAQ

Why is the result a bit smaller than the target?
To make sure it never goes over, about 4% is reserved for container overhead and 1 MB is counted as 1,000,000 bytes (smaller than the MiB your OS may show), so results usually land at 90–99% of the target. Very simple footage such as screen recordings may not need the whole budget and comes out smaller still — that is normal.
The target is small and the video looks blurry — what can I do?
Bitrate is size divided by duration, so longer videos get less data per second. Trim unneeded parts first, lower the resolution (480p, 360p) or frame rate (24 or 15 fps), or remove the audio — all of these look far better than squeezing a high resolution into too few bits.
