🗂️Video Contact Sheet Maker - Create a Thumbnail Grid Preview of a Video Online
A contact sheet shows what a video contains at a glance: the whole clip is sampled into N×M evenly spaced frames and tiled into a single image. It is ideal for cataloguing footage, sharing on forums or cloud drives, skimming long recordings before editing, or checking what is inside a file without playing it. Choose 1–10 columns and 1–12 rows, a sheet width from 1280 to 3840 px, spacing, and a dark or light theme. Every thumbnail gets a timestamp, and the header lists the file name, duration, resolution and frame rate, file size, average bitrate and video/audio codecs — drawn with your browser fonts, so any file name renders correctly. Select several videos to batch-generate sheets as JPG (adjustable quality) or lossless PNG, downloaded together as a ZIP.

FAQ
- How are the frames chosen?
- The duration is split into N×M equal slots and the middle frame of each slot is used — for a 4×4 grid that is 1/32, 3/32, 5/32… of the way through — so the sheet covers the whole video while skipping the black frames often found at the very start and end. FFmpeg seeks precisely, so results are consistent across formats.
- Why is it slow for some videos?
- Each thumbnail is decoded from the nearest keyframe up to its timestamp, so 4K footage or files with long keyframe intervals take longer, and bigger grids (10×12 = 120 frames) take longer still. Try 4×4 or 5×5 first, then go bigger once you like the layout.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
