🔉Online Tone Generator - Sine, Square Wave, Frequency Sweep, White & Pink Noise
Test the frequency response of speakers and headphones, hunt down room modes, check a sound card, tune an instrument or play noise for sleep — all from your browser. Generate sine, square, sawtooth or triangle waves anywhere from 1 to 20,000 Hz: the logarithmic slider makes both bass and treble easy to reach, and buttons nudge the frequency by ±0.1, ±1 or ±10 Hz, a semitone or an octave. Or pick a note and octave (A4, C5…) with an adjustable A4 reference such as 432, 440 or 442 Hz. Sweep mode glides between two frequencies over a set time on a linear or logarithmic curve — perfect for spotting rattles and dips. Noise mode offers white, pink and brown noise, and binaural mode plays slightly different frequencies in each ear. Volume has a built-in safety cap and a stereo balance control, and anything you hear can be rendered offline to a WAV file of the length you choose.

FAQ
- How do I test my speakers or headphones with it?
- Choose Sweep, set 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz over 10–30 seconds on the logarithmic curve, start with the volume low, and listen for ranges that suddenly get quieter, louder or buzz — those are dips, peaks or resonances. Single-tone mode lets you step through frequencies one by one to find room modes.
- Is it safe for my ears and speakers?
- Turn your system volume down first and raise it gradually. Long exposure to loud or high-pitched pure tones can harm hearing, and loud sub-40 Hz tones or square/sawtooth waves can damage small speakers. The volume is capped at −6 dBFS. Binaural beats need headphones and are not a medical treatment; people with epilepsy or pacemakers should be cautious.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Files never leave your computer and are discarded when you close the page.
- Do I need to sign up or pay?
