🪙Expense Tracker - Private Budget Planner with Reports

Want to track spending without handing your purchases to yet another app? This expense tracker runs entirely in your browser and keeps your data on your device. An entry needs only an amount, a category and a date; you can add an account (cash, debit card, credit card…), a note and tags, and edit the category and account lists with your own icons and colors. Entries can be in any currency and are converted to your base currency with exchange rates you set yourself. Give each expense category — and your total spending — a monthly budget, with progress bars that change color as you near or pass the limit. Reports show income, spending, net and daily average by month or year, a category pie chart, a 12-month income vs. spending trend and a daily spending heatmap (a calendar for a month, a full-year grid for a year); click any day to list its entries. Rent, salary and subscriptions can repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly and are filled in automatically up to today each time you open the page, with month-end dates clamped to shorter months. Import any CSV with a header row and map its columns, including bill exports from Alipay and WeChat Pay with their GBK encoding and preamble lines, with duplicate detection by transaction ID. Export CSV or a full JSON backup at any time and restore it on another device.

FAQ

Is my financial data safe? Is it uploaded?
Nothing is uploaded. Entries, categories and budgets are stored in this browser’s local storage, which the website’s server can’t see. The flip side is that clearing browser data, switching devices or using a private window will hide them, so export a JSON backup regularly from Settings & data and use Restore JSON backup on your other device.
Which CSV files can I import?
Any CSV with a header row: choose the file, check the detected columns for date, amount, income/expense, category, note, payee and account, and fix any mapping with the drop-downs. Signed amounts work too — negative numbers become expenses. Bill exports from Alipay and WeChat Pay are recognized automatically, including GBK encoding and the summary lines above the table; neutral transfers and closed transactions are skipped, and re-importing the same file skips duplicates by transaction ID.
How are foreign currencies handled?
Each entry keeps its original currency and amount. Totals, budgets and reports convert them to your base currency using the rates in Settings & data, e.g. 1 EUR = 1.09 USD. Rates are entered by hand and never fetched online, so everything stays offline and reproducible; change a rate and every report recalculates instantly.
How do recurring entries work?
Set Repeat to daily, weekly, monthly or yearly when adding an entry. That creates a rule and immediately adds every occurrence from the start date up to today; each later visit adds whatever has come due since, without duplicates. A monthly entry on the 31st lands on the last day of shorter months. On the Recurring tab you can set an end date, pause or delete a rule — entries already created are kept.
