🔴Halftone Effect Online - Comic Dots, Pop Art & CMYK Print Screens
Newspaper and vintage comic images are built from dots of varying size — big where it's dark, small where it's light — that blend into continuous tones from a distance. This tool samples the image on a rotated grid and draws a dot of matching size at each point. Single-colour dots use your chosen ink and paper for a retro newspaper or comic look; CMYK colour dots separate the image into cyan, magenta, yellow and black plates like a printing press, each screened at its own angle and overprinted, revealing the classic rosette pattern up close; the line screen uses diagonal lines of varying thickness. Dot size scales with the image, so the preview matches the export.

FAQ
- How is this different from Image Dithering?
- Dithering uses single black and white pixels to simulate grey, ideal for thermal printers and e-ink. Halftone uses dots that grow and shrink, giving a bigger, more decorative pattern for posters, comics and pop art.
- The dots are too fine or too coarse — what now?
- Adjust Dot size: higher values give bolder dots and a stronger style, lower values keep more of the original detail.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser with no network upload, and is discarded when you close the page.
- Do I need to sign up or pay?
- No. The site is completely free, needs no account, has no usage limits and adds no watermark.
