🕵️Hide Text in Image Online - Steganography with Password
Steganography hides information inside an ordinary-looking picture. This tool writes your text into the lowest bit of each pixel's red, green and blue values — a change of at most 1/255 that the eye cannot see. A 1000×1000 image holds roughly 370,000 bytes. Add a password and the text is encrypted with AES-256-GCM (key derived with PBKDF2) before it is written, so it can't be read without the password even by someone who knows the method. Switch to Reveal and choose the PNG to read the message back. Hidden data is fragile: compressing, resizing, converting to JPG or sending through chat apps destroys it, so share the original PNG as a file.

FAQ
- Why can't the hidden text be read?
- Make sure you are using the original PNG exported by this tool. Compression, cropping, resizing, screenshots or sending via chat apps rewrite the lowest bits and the message is lost.
- Is steganography secure?
- Without a password, anyone who knows the technique can read the text. With a password the content is AES-256 encrypted and only readable with the password. Steganography hides that a message exists; it is not a replacement for proper encrypted messaging.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser with no network upload, and is discarded when you close the page.
- Do I need to sign up or pay?
- No. The site is completely free, needs no account, has no usage limits and adds no watermark.
