🗒️Online Notepad - Free Browser Notepad with Autosave & Markdown

Open the page and start writing: your text is saved automatically to this browser’s local storage a moment after you stop typing, so it is still there when you come back. Create as many notes as you like, search them by title or content, switch between them from the sidebar and rename them at any time; deleted notes can be restored with Undo for a few seconds. Live counters under the editor show words, characters with and without spaces, and lines. Turn on Markdown to switch between Edit, Split and Preview views with headings, lists, tables and code blocks rendered as you type — unsafe content such as scripts is stripped from the preview. Export any note as .txt or .md, import several text or Markdown files at once, and use Focus mode for a full-screen, distraction-free page (Esc to leave). Everything stays on your device and is never uploaded.

FAQ

Where are my notes stored? Can I lose them?
Notes are kept in your browser’s local storage and are never uploaded, so they are only available in this browser on this device. Clearing browser data, private windows or switching devices will lose them, so export important notes as .txt or .md regularly.
Do I need to press Save?
No. Notes save about half a second after you stop typing, and the status under the editor shows “Saved” with the time. Unsaved changes are also written immediately when you close or reload the page. If browser storage is full or blocked, you will see a warning.
Does it support Markdown?
Yes. Tick Markdown at the top right, then choose Split (write on the left, live preview on the right) or Preview. GitHub-flavored Markdown is supported, including headings, bold and italics, lists, quotes, tables, code blocks and links. Export as .md to keep editing in any Markdown app.
I deleted a note by mistake — can I get it back?
Right after deleting, a message with an Undo button appears at the bottom of the page for 8 seconds; click Undo to restore the note to its original place. After the message disappears the note is permanently removed, so export anything important first.
