🖼️Photo to Oil Painting Online - Turn Pictures into Paintings
Turn an ordinary photo into an oil painting. The tool uses a Kuwahara filter: every pixel takes the average colour of whichever of its four surrounding regions is most uniform, so flat areas become patches of colour while outlines stay crisp — just like paint laid down stroke by stroke. Two passes, small strokes then larger ones, give a more natural look. Brush size scales with the image, so the preview matches the full-size result; colour richness makes hues more paint-like, and a subtle canvas texture can be added. Great for landscapes, flowers, pets and portraits, or for wall art and avatars.

FAQ
- Why does a large image take a few seconds?
- The filter examines four regions around every pixel, which is a lot of work for a 12-megapixel photo — it usually takes a few seconds.
- Which photos work best?
- Colourful landscapes, flowers and pets with a clear subject. Larger brushes look more abstract; smaller ones keep more detail.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser with no network upload, and is discarded when you close the page.
- Do I need to sign up or pay?
- No. The site is completely free, needs no account, has no usage limits and adds no watermark.
