📝Word to Markdown - Convert docx to HTML, TXT and PDF Online
Moving a Word document into a blog, a wiki or a Git repository, what matters is the structure: which heading level, where the lists are, how many columns a table has. This tool parses the docx in your browser, shows a formatted preview first, then exports Markdown, HTML or plain text — or opens the print dialog so you can save a PDF.

FAQ
- Can it open .doc files?
- No. .doc is the Word 97-2003 binary format and shares nothing with .docx internally. Save it as .docx in Word or WPS first.
- Why does the layout differ from Word?
- Markdown and HTML have no concept of font sizes, columns or floating text boxes, so the export keeps structure rather than layout. For a pixel-faithful page, use Word's own Export as PDF.
- Are lists from non-English Word versions detected?
- Yes. Those versions attach numbering to the paragraph style, and the tool follows the style chain to the numbering definition: ordered lists become 1. and bullets become -. If the original text was typed by hand, it stays as ordinary text.
- Do tracked changes and comments come through?
- No. The export reflects the document as it currently reads; revision marks and comment balloons are left out. Accept or reject changes in Word first.
- Do images stay in place?
- Each image lands in the paragraph it belongs to, but wrap-around positioning has no Markdown equivalent, so it becomes its own line.
